Women Education GD Topics

After getting freedom, it became essential for India to popularize women education. A new plan was prepared for this purpose not only in the cities and towns but also for the villages. In India before independence, no emphasis was given to women education. They used to remain within the four walls of the house. Their duty was to do household work. After attaining freedom, it was thought that woman should be brought out of that bondage for the betterment of the society and the nation at large. It was also thought that they should be brought in the main stream of the country and should do social, political and administrative work.

The education should be purposeful. The education should aim at making good citizens. A woman is an idol of compassion, kindness, charity and self-control. All these qualities are necessary for man also. Self-controlis essential for human beings and compassion and charity create pure thoughts in the mind. Therefore what is in woman will be imparted in men through her.

In our Indian society a woman enjoys several positions. She is a mother, a daughter, a sister and a saviour of a family. She is the symbol of self-sacrifies. If a woman is educated, she will do a great benefit to the nation. The child learns the best lesson of citizenship in the lap of his mother. The government is doing a lot for the women education. There are co-educaitonal institutions and many other institutions, especially for women, have been opened. The girls have to pay half of the tution fee in comparison to boys. Now-a-days many women are working in various fields. Women have got training even as pilots. Women are working in railways, banks, judicial services, police, education departments and many other government departments. But still much is to be done to make them self-reliant and good citizen.

"Education is the birth right of each and every person." So why a part of our society left behind with this right. We are living in the age of development. As we all know women are the most important part of our society as they nourish the future of the country. To know what is right what is wrong women education is must. most of the women face the problems ranging from eve teasing to big happenings if we can prevent these problems from the society by educating the women then I don't think there is any problem. At last I would like to conclude my topic by saying "Educated woman makes a family healthy and progressive. Educate woman makes the Country Educated."

Education of women (the status of women in society)

Half of our population consists of women. But for centuries together women have been exploited by the male dominated society. they have been treated as salves and servants. In domestic life the woman is reduced to a mouthless creature who has to drudge all her life for the comfort and happiness of man. It is high time that women found their right place in society.

In our society the woman forms the hub of domestic life. So it is said “Men build houses; women make homes’. a good woman is a dutiful wife to her husband. She is a loving mother to her children. So Dr.Charles rightly pointed our, “When you educate a man you educate an individual; when you educate a woman you educate a family”.

Good education alone will provide our women with dignity, equality and liberty. so education of women has been given top priority. Today a large number of women are working as teachers, doctors, lawyers, engineers, collectors and ministers. Outstanding women like Mrs.Indira Gandhi, Miss.J.Jayalalitha, Mrs.Thatcher and Mother Teresa have proved that the hand that rocks the cradle rules the land.

The Government is keen on imparting education to women. In big cities schools and colleges are opened exclusively for women. Women are taught technical courses in women’s polytechnics. Women’s Hostels are opened in cities for working women.
